The 2nd meditation retreat of Aryananda Mahathero will be held in Minamiboso City, Chiba from April 29th to May 5th as planned. Please check the PDF file of the link below for details of the meditation retreat.

皆様、
コロナ禍でしばらく中止となったアリヤナンダ大長老の瞑想合宿は今年から再開することを予定しており、再開に向けた準備を着々と進めていることをお知らせ致します。
大長老による日本での第二回目の合宿は、今年の4月29日から5月5日までの日程において、千葉県の南房総市内で開催される予定です。すでに大長老の承諾をいただいており、現在はビザの取得手続きを進めております。
ビザの取得が完了しましたら、皆様にはお申し込みの詳細を含めて改めてご案内させていただきます。

Dear all
We are pleased to inform you that the meditation retreat of the Aryananda Mahathero, which was suspended for a while due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is scheduled to resume this year, and we are steadily making preparations for its resumption.
Mahathero's The second retreat in Japan will be held in Minami-Boso City, Chiba Prefecture, from April 29 to May 5 of this year. We have already received approval from the Mahathero and are currently in the process of obtaining visas.
Once the visa is obtained, we will send you an update with the details of the application for the retreat.

We visited Ariyananda Mahāthera at Nauyana, Sri Lanka and invited for Bhante's 2nd meditation retreat in Japan (Golden week in 2020).
スリランカのナーウヤナを訪問し、アリヤナンダ大長老を日本での第2回目のメディテーション・リトリート（2020年のゴールデンウイーク）に招待しました。

2019年アリヤナンダ大長老のメディテーション・リトリート
～初来日～

講師： アリアナンダ大長老（Ven.Ariyananda Thero）
１９６４年生まれのスリランカ人僧侶。スリランカのナーウヤナ(Nauyana)僧院の住職。Ven. Ariyananda Mahathero アリヤナンダ大長老は 大学卒業後、エンジニアとしてスリランカの大手企業に就職し、若くして主要ポストに就くも、僧侶への道を選び、28歳の時、念願の出家を果たす。アリヤダンマ大長老（Ven. Ariyadhamma Mahathero）の導きにより、1996年にミャンマーのパオ瞑想センターに渡り、集中瞑想リトリートに参加し、全プログラムを約一年間で終了し、パオセヤドーにより瞑想指導者としての承認を得、スリランカに戻り翌年より10人の僧侶と共にNauyana森林道場にて、僧院を建設し始めた。現在Nauyana僧院は300人を超す修行者が住み、長老は皆の精神的アドバイザーである。
慈悲深い人柄に加え、シンプルで伝わりやすい英語での話法と瞑想指導には大変定評があり、マレーシア、中国、オーストラリア、スウェーデン、インドネシア、シンガポールなど多くの国や地域から招へいされ、ブッタの教えを世界中に広めている。また、長老の高い智慧と指導を求め、世界各地からNauyana僧院での修行希望者が増え続けている。

南房総 館山市の市街から少し離れた西岬地区の
海に面した高台に建つ小奇麗な合宿所で、海岸まで
歩いて３分なので、海岸を歩行瞑想することもできます。
定員
３０名（男女不問）
会場の人数制限があるため、全日程参加可能な方を優先
とさせていだきます。
本合宿は、ボランティア有志によって運営されております。
Meditation Retreat of Venerable Ariyananda Mahathero 2019
~First time in Japan~
Lecturer： Ven.Ariyananda Mahathero
Ven. Angulgamuwe Ariyananda Mahāthera was born in 27th February 1964. He went forth as a sāmanera on 18th June 1992, at the aged of 28. A year later on 18th June 1993, he went for higher ordination (upasampada) under the Ven. Rājakīya Pandita Kaddavedduve Srī Jinavaṁsa Mahāthera (passed away on 13th July 2003).
In 2nd January 1996, he went with the first group led by Mahāthera Ariyadhamma to Pa-Auk Forest Meditation Centre, Myanmar for intensive meditation retreat. Together with Mahāthera Ariyadhamma they completed the meditation system in Pa-Auk Forest Meditation Centre and also with the authorization by the Most Venerable Pa-Auk Sayadaw to teach meditation. They returned to Sri Lanka in 20th December 1996. In 10th November 1997, together with 10 other monks, he comes to the Nā-Uyana Forest Monastery and establish the existing monastery there under the Shrī Kalyāni Yogāsrama Foundation. He is currently the meditation teacher and spiritual advisor of the Na-Uyana monastery. He is also the spiritual advisor in few branches of Nā-Uyana in Taiwan and Indonesia.
Every year he is invited to various countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Indonesia for teaching meditation, Sima setting and various Dhamma propagation services.
He is a skillful teacher with lots of loving kindness, who can explain complex topics with simple English. Among of his students are local and foreign monks, Mahayana nuns and Theravada nuns from all around the worlds, such as Taiwan, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Australia, Korean, Ireland, Sweden, Indonesia, Singapore, German, Myanmar, India and etc. No matter the meditators are from any Buddhism background, he teaches everyone equally. Due to his compassionate and skillful teaching, more and more foreigners coming to Sri Lanka to learn mediation from him.

As there are limitations on the capacity, we will prioritize those
